Workhorse Recruitment Pty. Ltd. - based in Queensland, Australia - was established in June 2000, after the purchase of the business of Equine Staff Services from Danielle McAllister. Previously a joint venture between National Grazing Services Pty. Ltd. and Susan Frost, from June 2000 until May 2003 resulted in the establishment of Workhorse Recruitment Pty Ltd. National Grazing Services (based in Dubbo) provides services to agribusiness and is one of the oldest businesses in Australia. NGS is a centralised administration company supporting a network of services in order to achieve a continuity of labour to assist rural and regional enterprises. NGS is the largest provider of shearing contractors in Australia. Through our association with NGS we have built Workhorse Recruitment into a successful Agribusiness. The core business of Workhorse Recruitment is to provide staffing solutions through the recruitment of Equine/Farm Animal experienced personnel.

In May 2003 Susan acquired Workhorse Recruitment Pty Ltd in it's entirity and entered into a new partnership with Robert Camfferman to diversify into Business Management Consulting with the inclusion of Workplace Health & Safety, Training and Quality Assurance Services.
Workhorse Recruitment is established as the leading recruitment agency for the horse industry and also for intensive pig and poultry industries Australia wide. Workhorse Recruitment will build on this success with an expansion of its services to include a comprehensive Business Consultative service network throughout Rural and Regional Australia. With the relocation of the office we will provide a comprehensive labour hire service focused on food and processing industries in Toowoomba.

Directors

Susan Frost

Susan Frost as Managing Director has a vast background in both recruitment and rural industries. Susan is a past graduate of University of Qld. Gatton College in Farm Management and has a lifetime of horse competition experience in Dressage and Show Horses. Susan continued in Thoroughbred Breeding for three years until making a new career move into Sales in Rural Industries. This progressed into Recruitment with an International recruitment agency where she gained 2 years valuable experience dealing with all aspects of contract labour hire and management recruitment over a variety of businesses and industries. Susan has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of recruitment services and labour hire from industrial relations to executive placements and large labour management applications. Susan has 6 years experience in Recruitment.

Robert Camfferman

Robert started his career on cattle stations at the age of 15 as a Stockman, where he developed his skills in stock handling and horsemanship working on cattle stations in the Northern Territory.

After spending several years in the Territory, he attended Roseworthy Agricultural College, where he acquired valuable skills in Animal Production. Since then, he has worked in the many facets of the agricultural industry, including the Stock Feed Industry as a Sales Consultant/ Nutritionist for several Stock Feed Company's on the Darling Downs in Queensland, providing nutritional advice to the Pig, Equine, Cattle and Poultry Industries.

Robert developed a career in the meat industry from 1996 to gain experience in the processing sector where he became a fully qualified Meat Inspector, Food Safety Auditor, Ausmeat Standards Officer, Quality Assurance Manager and Workplace Health & Safety Officer.
Experienced in Senior Management, as a Quality Assurance Manager of a poultry processing facility, Robert developed the Human Resource skills needed to maintain a workforce of approx. 180 employees, including maintaining and developing the systems necessary to run a facility of this size.
Rob came across to Workhorse Recruitment in November 2001 from a high profile Employment Agency in Queensland where he worked as an Account Manager in the Toowoomba region.

Now working as a Consultant and a trainer, he assists general industry in the areas of Quality Assurance, Workplace Health & Safety and Food Safety. Rob became a Director of Workhorse Recruitment in May 2003.
His interests include, Fly Fishing, Golf & Reining Cow Horses.
